Biography

Gretchen McGinty is a speech language pathologist who specializes in treating voice disorders in adult and pediatric patients, in addition to swallowing disorders in adults. She is also a classically trained actress who has performed in theatre, commercials and film. Her performance background has spurred her passion in helping others achieve their best voice. She evaluates voice disorders through use of videostroboscopy and acoustics analysis. Voice interventions include resonant voice therapy and respiratory retraining (for chronic cough and vocal cord dysfunction). Swallow interventions include McNeill Dysphagia Protocol, Myofascial Release and EMG biofeedback . She is trained Lee Silverman Voice treatment (LSVT) to address hypophonia in Parkinson’s disease. Ms. McGinty is a regular presenter at the Spasmodic Dysphonia Support Group that meets at CEENTA.
