Jeanne L. Hatcher, MD, FACS, is an otolaryngologist with subspecialty fellowship training in laryngology in Charlotte, NC and Fort Mill, SC. Her clinical interests encompass all of laryngology: voice, upper airway, and swallowing disorders. She has special expertise in open and endoscopic airway reconstruction, awake laryngeal procedures, care of the professional voice, and gender affirming voice care.
After receiving her undergraduate degree in biology from the College of Charleston, Dr. Hatcher earned her medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She later completed her residency in otolaryngology at Wake Forest and her fellowship in Laryngology and Care of the Professional Voice under Dr. C. Blake Simpson at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.
Prior to joining CEENTA, Dr. Hatcher was Associate Professor of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. During her tenure at Emory, Dr. Hatcher co-directed the Emory Voice Center, directed the laryngology fellowship training program, and helped develop the multidisciplinary complex airway program, chronic cough clinic, and gender affirming care teams. Within Emory’s Office of Wellbeing, she co-directed the physicians’ working group, advocating for physician mental health across Emory Healthcare and the School of Medicine. She has been an invited speaker to multiple national and international conferences. Outside of the office, Dr. Hatcher enjoys time with her family, traveling, exploring cooking middle eastern cuisine, and community engagement with her church.
