Biography
Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Karen Padgett completed her bachelor of science in speech and hearing from Ohio University in 1990. She went on to complete her master’s degree in audiology from the University of South Carolina in 1992. She practiced with otolaryngologists in Gastonia, NC for 17 years. She was responsible for managing the audiology department, implementing the dispensing of hearing aids, working with local pediatricians to start the universal newborn hearing screening program at Gaston Memorial Hospital, working with the local hearing-impaired classrooms, audiometric testing of all ages, vestibular testing and electrophysiological testing.
In 2007, Dr. Padgett elected to further her career and obtain her doctor of audiology. She received her doctor of audiology in 2009 from A.T. Still University and began practicing with Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates, P.A. Outside of practicing audiology she is very active with her son.
