CEENTA Welcomes Five New Physicians in Historic First

CEENTA is pleased to announce the addition of five new physicians to the practice effective September 22, 2026: William Edwards, MD, Nnana Amakiri, MD, Nathaniel Breslin, MD, Sunitha Sequeira, MD, and Brian Wogu, MD.

This marks the largest same-day physician expansion in our practice's more than 100-year history. The milestone reflects CEENTA's continued growth and our commitment to increasing access to high-quality specialty care throughout the Carolinas.

As a cataract surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Edwards' clinical interests include cataract surgery, diabetic eye care, astigmatism treatment, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Alabama Honors College with a degree in biology, Dr. Edwards earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his residency and glaucoma research fellowship at UTHSC Hamilton Eye Institute.

Dr. Edwards will see patients at our SouthPark and Matthews offices.

“I’m excited to get to know my patients and help them find the best path to improve their quality of vision, whether it's through medical treatment, surgical treatment, or lifestyle changes,” says Dr. Edwards. “I love educating my patients about their eye health so they can feel informed and empowered to choose the approach that's right for them.”

Dr. Amakiri is a fellowship-trained cornea and glaucoma specialist with expertise in traditional and laser-assisted cataract surgery, LASIK, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and premium intraocular lenses. Graduating from Cornell University with a degree in neurobiology, Dr. Amakiri received his medical degree from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. He became chief resident at Moran Eye Center and completed his fellowship in cornea, glaucoma, and refractive surgery at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Amakiri will be practicing at our SouthPark office.

Nathaniel Breslin, MD's arrival brings comprehensive adult and pediatric ENT care back to Salisbury while also expanding access to care alongside established CEENTA physicians in Concord. In addition, Dr. Breslin's services include sinus and nasal airway surgery, thyroid surgery, parotid mass removal, and obstructive sleep apnea treatment. Dr. Breslin graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in biology and earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He later completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern.

Dr. Sunitha Sequeira is a comprehensive otolaryngologist providing adult and pediatric ENT care, sinus surgery, salivary gland surgery, and thyroid surgery at our Fort Mill office. She completed her undergraduate degree, medical degree, and otolaryngology residency at Washington University in St. Louis and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

“I chose CEENTA because I was impressed by the group's focus on excellent patient care and supportive environment for physicians,” says Dr. Sequeira.

Dr. Brian Wogu is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist with additional expertise in cataract surgery and premium intraocular lenses. Graduating from the University of Delaware with a degree in biochemistry, Dr. Wogu earned his medical degree at Sidney Kimmel Medical College. He completed his residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his glaucoma fellowship at Duke Eye Center.

Dr. Wogu will see patients at our SouthPark and Matthews offices.

“North Carolina has felt like home since I moved here five years ago for residency, so I knew I wanted to continue building my career here,” says Dr. Wogu. “I was specifically drawn to CEENTA because of the need for glaucoma care in the area, and I'm looking forward to serving and building relationships with such a diverse patient population.”
