CEENTA is proud to announce it has partnered with the Down Syndrome Association (DSA) of Greater Charlotte for their 2019 fundraising efforts. Every year CEENTA, through its charitable arm CEENTAcares, raises money for an organization that makes a difference in the community and ties into CEENTA’s healthcare mission. Patients with Down syndrome have special care needs, and CEENTA’s doctors are specially trained to treat those patients. The DSA of Greater Charlotte serves 10 North Carolina counties and two South Carolina counties. It is a non-profit, family support organization whose goal is to enable individuals with Down syndrome to reach their full potential and improve their quality of life through education, social programs, and community partnerships. The DSA of Greater Charlotte organizes fundraising activities throughout the year, including their annual 5K race, their golf tournament, and their Buddy Walk. CEENTAcares also has a number of its own fundraising events throughout the year, including denim days, raffles, and the annual CEENTAcares Classic Golf Tournament. “For over ten years now, CEENTA’s staff and physicians have been partnering with charities throughout our service region to give back to the community that our patients live and work in,” CEENTAcares committee member Bruce Marshman said. “Our CEENTAcares team looks forward to another great year in 2019 and to partnering with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte.” “Giving back to the community is important to us,” CEENTA CEO Jag Gill, ScD, said. “We’re impressed with the work the DSA of Greater Charlotte does, and we look forward to helping them as much as we can this year.” “Community partnerships are vital to the success of our organization,” DSA of Greater Charlotte Executive Director Holly Zipperer said. “Those partnerships allow us to meet our mission and grow our impact so we’re engaging with more families with Down syndrome, as well as community members interested in supporting families with Down syndrome.” Previous fundraising partners have included the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
