CEENTAcares new charity partner My Sister's House

CEENTA is proud to announce My Sister’s House of Charlotte as our CEENTAcares partner for 2026.

Founded in 2010, My Sister’s House of Charlotte is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides a safe overnight home and comprehensive support services for single, unhoused women in the Charlotte community. In addition to meeting immediate shelter needs, the organization focuses on long-term stability and independence through a variety of programs, including:

  • Life skills classes
  • Individual and group therapy
  • Financial literacy workshops

These services, along with donations of essential items such as cleaning supplies, are designed to support the emotional, mental, and practical well-being of women as they work toward stability and independence.

As the newest partner of CEENTAcares, My Sister's House of Charlotte will receive a lump-sum donation at the end of the calendar year, generated by fundraising efforts across our practice. These efforts include ticket raffles for local sports partners along with team member initiatives like “Denim Days.”

Fundraising culminates each year in the CEENTAcares Classic Golf Tournament, which features donations and sponsorships from regional and national businesses.

“My Sister’s House of Charlotte was chosen as our 2026 partner due to the deep-rooted, compassionate care they provide to women impacted by homelessness in the city,” said Ryan Fitzmaurice, MHA, Administrative Fellow and CEENTAcares representative. “We are proud to support an organization that is changing lives every day and has a clear vision for expanding its services and outreach. Our goals this year are to raise funds to support their growth, volunteer our time to make meaningful improvements at the home, and increase awareness of My Sister’s House and its mission.”

"My Sister's House team is excited for the opportunity to partner with CEENTA," says Deronda Metz, MSW, LCSW, Executive Director of My Sister's House and Friendship CDC. "We aim to expand our services to meet the growing need of women that are homeless in Charlotte. Equally important is to educate the community on how much more is possible when we work together in partnerships. This collaboration with CEENTA will help us achieve both goals."

My Sister’s House of Charlotte joins a list of organizations that have partnered with CEENTAcares in the past, including Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, The Joe Martin ALS Foundation, Lions Services, and The CARE Project.
