Biography

Dr. Shelby Shepherd is dedicated to providing superior hearing healthcare across the lifespan. Her goal is to create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable working together and asking questions so that patients can make informed decisions about their hearing healthcare. Her clinical interests include pediatric and adult diagnostics and rehabilitation, tinnitus management, and adult cochlear implants.

Graduating from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio to earn her bachelor’s degree, Dr. Shepherd completed her doctorate in audiology (Au.D.) at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. During her graduate studies, she gained experience at clinics in the Detroit metro area including Henry Ford Health System, Michigan Ear Institute, and Children's Hospital of Michigan and completed her fourth-year externship at CEENTA to conclude her doctoral degree, where she was subsequently hired as a full-time audiologist.

Dr. Shepherd is licensed to practice audiology in both North Carolina and South Carolina. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (F-AAA).

Dr. Shepherd is originally from Dayton, Ohio where she enjoys returning to visit with family. She spends her free time traveling, playing golf, and spending time with her family.
