Biography

Dr. Timothy Kelly was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School, graduating in 1987 with the Hewlett Packard award for Academics and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) in 1992 at the Indiana University School of Medicine and subsequently took a position in the department as a Clinical Assistant Professor, which he held from 1992-2007, when he moved to the Charlotte area to continue his career.

While practicing in Indianapolis, Dr. Kelly taught ENT residents surgical techniques and frequently lectured and taught residents in the Indiana University School of Medicine departments of internal medicine, family medicine, and emergency medicine. He was also one of the team physicians for the Indiana Pacers NBA basketball team, serving in that role for over 10 years. He moved with his family to Charlotte, NC in 2007, and has practiced primarily in the Rock Hill, SC and Fort Mill, SC areas. He is pleased to have joined Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates in January of 2015. He continues his love of teaching as a Clinical Professor with the Virginia Technical College of Osteopathic Medicine, frequently precepting 4th-year medical students.

Dr. Kelly is board-certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has clinical interests in most areas of ENT, especially pediatrics, thyroid, parotid, and nasal/sinus surgery. He and his wife, Cindy, reside in Fort Mill. Together, they have raised 5 children; all are “out” of the house now. His interests outside of medicine are golf, exercise, and reading. He is passionate about caring for his patients and educating them about their ENT needs.
