Biography

Dr. Katherine Orman is an oculoplastic surgeon whose practice encompasses reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the orbits, eyelids, brows, and lacrimal system due to trauma, cancer, congenital defects, systemic diseases, loss of an eye, and aging. Cosmetic surgery is also a large focus of Dr. Orman’s practice. When considering cosmetic eyelid surgery, it is important to remember that the function of the eyelids is to protect the eye. Dr. Orman has a special interest in restoring a natural, more youthful appearance, while maintaining focus on ocular health.

Dr. Orman earned two undergraduate degrees from the University of Alabama and her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Her internship was at Baptist Health Systems. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Orman then completed a 2 year ASOPRS fellowship in oculoplastic, orbital, and reconstructive surgery at UAB Medical Center and The Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital. Dr. Orman’s practice encompasses the following:
