Biography

Dr. Jason Barnes is an otolaryngologist who specializes in comprehensive adult and pediatric ENT care in Mooresville, NC. His clinical interests include tonsillectomy, ear tubes and surgery related to chronic ear infections, cochlear implants, chronic sinusitis, allergies, and sleep surgery including the Inspire Sleep Apnea treatment. In addition, Dr. Barnes provides specialty surgical procedures such as thyroidectomy, and parotid mass removal. Finally, he has experience with treatment and removal of cancers of the oral cavity, oropharynx and skin.

After receiving his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Richmond, Dr. Barnes earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He later completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. In addition, he has experience as a clinical instructor at the VCU School of Medicine Department of Education and in residency helped start an education podcast, “ENT in a Nutshell.”
Outside of the office, Dr. Barnes enjoys cycling, running and fly fishing. He is married and has two boys with whom he enjoys hiking and camping.
