For 90 years, Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates has provided comprehensive eye, ear, nose and throat care to generations of Carolinians. In 1923, three physicians became a part of Charlotte medical history when they formed the multispecialty group, Charlotte Eye Ear and Throat (CEET) Hospital on Seventh Street in downtown Charlotte. The 37-bed CEET Hospital was formed by the partnership of James P. Matheson, MD, Clarence N. Peeler, MD, and Henry L. Sloan, Sr., MD. This was the first multispecialty hospital of its kind in the area, which also housed an optical department, laboratory and waiting room. The physicians of the first multispecialty facility boast several accomplishments.
