Charlotte, NC, is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan regions in America. With big city amenities and quieter suburban areas, there are great places to live no matter what lifestyle you prefer. The Carolina Panthers, the Charlotte Hornets, the Charlotte Checkers, the Charlotte Knights, and the Kannapolis Intimidators all call the region home. If you like racing, Charlotte is the place to be. Not only is the Charlotte region the birthplace and home of NASCAR, but the Charlotte Motor Speedway is here in nearby Concord. If you want to learn more about the history of the sport, the NASCAR Hall of Fame is right in Uptown.
The Carowinds amusement park sits on the border of North and South Carolina, and operates year-round with fun, family activities for people of all ages.
If you like water, the region boasts the Catawba River, Lake Norman, Lake Wylie, and Mountain Island Lake. If the mountains are your thing, a two-hour drive west to Asheville or Boone will put you right at their feet. And if you like the beaches, Wilmington and the coast are three and a half hours east.
Last year the glaucoma worsened to the point that surgery on both eyes was required. Dr. Huang carefully studied my abnormally frail eyes and concluded surgery would be safe. My pool game has distinctly improved, and I can look forward to major improvements in my tennis. Dr. Huang is obviously a medical prodigy, and at the same time she’s unusually caring with each patient.
