Residency: Ophthalmology residency at Cornell NY Hospital where he served as chief resident Fellowship: Glaucoma, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami, Miami, Florida, which has been voted the best U.S. Eye Hospital by U.S. News and World Report.

CERTIFICATIONS/AFFILIATIONS: Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the Mecklenburg Medical Society, North Carolina Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. Since his arrival in Charlotte, he has been active in community outreach programs, providing presentations on eye-related topics to numerous local groups and organizations and donates time to providing care to the indigent, underserved population in community health clinics.

Dr. Flores is fluent in Spanish. He has served on the Hispanic committee for the United Way and is a special health consultant for Charlotte’s Spanish weekly newspaper, La Noticia.

MEDICAL STAFF: Carolinas Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital, HealthSouth Laser and Surgery Center, and Presbyterian Hospital-Matthews.

EXPERTISE: Diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, performs no-needle, no-stitch topical anesthesia cataract surgery, general and diabetic eye examinations, and LASIK laser vision correction.
